Pilgrimage to Ogori (K2) trek (the Mountain of Mountains)

Trek Itinerary:

Islamabad – Chilas – Hunza – Kashgar – Kashgar – Yecheng – Mazar – 15 days on the trek – Mazar - Yecheng – Kashgar – Urumqi – Islamabad.

K2 was simply “the Mountain of Mountains”. The vast majority of trekkers to the majestic peak approach it from the west, along the Baltoro Glacier in Pakistan. While this is certainly a top-notch mountain experience, the route has become somewhat crowded. For a truly unique and wild trek, we’ve decided to return to K2 from its northern or Chinese side. Since the infrastructure has vastly improved, we think this is now the finest experience of the peak.

Let’s sum up with words from two illustrious adventurers. Frances Younghusband describe his first northern view of K2 in his 1896 book, The Heart Of A Continent. “It was one of those sights which impress a man forever, and produce a permanent effect upon the mind”. Eric Shipton, like Younghusband, not one for idle praise, wrote a half century later that “ the sight was beyond my comprehension, and set gazing at it with a kind of timid fascination”.
