Mountaineering Rules and Regulations in Pakistan

Procedure for applying permission.

A foreign mountaineering expedition desirous of climbing of peak in Pakistan shall apply on application form with one extra copy to the nearest Embassies/Consulates of Pakistan or directly consult any tour operator within country. A copy with a photocopy of receipt should be sent directly to your ground tour operator

Government of Pakistan reserves the right to allot a particular peak through any route to more then one party in the same season.

Cancellations

Government has right to cancel the allotment of the peak at any time without assigning any reason. Amount of the royalty shall be refunded in this case.

Briefing/Debriefing

The expedition upon arrival should see the officer concerned in the Ministry of Tourism for arranging a meeting with a liaison officer and assistance on the matters like insurance, purchased of ration and allied matter. After the completing these formalities the expedition leader shall ask for the former briefing.

Note: no party will leave for the mountains without a formal briefing or leave the country without a formal debriefing session.

Liaison Officer (LO)
A party shall include in the expedition as its member at least one to be detailed by the Government of Pakistan.
